Noel Koons, Counselor, MS, CMHC
He/Him/His
I am an experienced and empathetic Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I’ve worked doing one-on-one therapy, couples counseling, as well as working with struggling adolescents and families in wilderness therapy, therapeutic boarding school, and residential treatment settings. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling. I love working with adults, teens, and families. Inspiring effort and transformations are what continually draw me to this work. I’m passionate about assisting people in their healing and growth.
I bring a curious, non-judgemental approach to my work while utilizing: mindfulness, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, 7 Challenges, Positive Psychology, CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy), Internal Family Systems, and Attachment Theory.
I was raised at the foot of the Wasatch mountains, and enjoy being active and getting outside. You’ll find me playing tennis, cycling, hiking, paddle boarding, or snowshoeing in my free time. I also like a good yard project to (hopefully) add beauty and be more water-wise. My wife and I love traveling and playing with our Miniature Schnauzer (Pancho).
